About Us
Assist, Inc. has been serving children and families since 1998, when Robert L. Contorchick, who had twenty years experience as a juvenile probation officer and supervisor, saw the need to develop a counseling program that specifically addressed the needs of the most at risk children and adolescents. After receiving his Masters Degree in Counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, he founded Assist, Inc. as a family counseling program. Since that time, the Assist program has successfully helped hundreds of children and their families resolve a multitude of issues and develop the skills necessary to succeed in life.
In 2004, Assist, Inc. expanded to offer wraparound services as a part of the Pennsylvania CASSP system, a network of healthcare providers that ensures that the 7% of children and adolescents who are at risk or have emotional disturbances, receive proper treatment. Assist, Inc. works actively with children, families, schools, and other available institutions to develop comprehensive solutions for children and adolescents' emotional and behavioral needs. With a collection of behavioral specialists, mobile therapists, and highly trained support staff, Assist, Inc. is committed to helping struggling families receive the help that they need.
